TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. The 2024 entry period starts 19 March 2024 and closes 14 June 2024.
2. There is no fee to submit an entry for the 2024 Telkom Radio Awards.
3. Entries for the 2024 Telkom Radio Awards must have been broadcast on FM or AM, and in the Internet-only category, online, between 1 April 2023 and 31 March 2024.
4. Entries of material broadcast outside the awards period of 1 April 2023 and 31 March 2024 will be disqualified.
5. Limitation on number of entries per category:
5.1. Presenter categories – only one submission per presenter will be permitted in each category. Stations may submit up to three entries in a category, but only one for each presenter.
5.2. Producer categories – only one submission per producer will be permitted in each category Stations may submit up to three entries in a category, but only one for each producer.
5.3. Show categories – only one submission per show will be permitted in each category. Stations may submit up to three entries in a category, but only one for each show.
5.4. News reader category – only one submission per reader is permitted. Stations may submit up to three entries in a category, but only one for each newsreader.
5.5. Community Project category – no more than three entries per station.
5.6. Programme Innovation category – no more than three entries per station.
5.7. On-air packaging category – no more than three entries per station.
5.8. Internet show category – a maximum of three entries per online station.
5.9. Podcast category – maximum of three entries per station/production organisation.
6. Each entry file must be submitted separately.
7. It is in your own interest to read the entry terms and conditions, and the category descriptions in order to decide whether your submission is eligible, what materials you will need to support your entry, and which category best suits your entry/entries.
8. Judges reserve the right not to judge an entry if the submission requirements have not been met.
9. Deviation from these guidelines, or missing information, may result in disqualification.
10. The judges’ decisions will be absolute and final; no correspondence relating to them will be entered into.
11. Internet-only broadcasts will only be accepted for the categories of Internet Radio Show and Podcast. Internet stations entering these categories must be based in South Africa.
12. With the exception of the Internet Radio Show category and the Podcast category, entries may only be made by ICASA Licensed Radio Stations, and Independent Production Organisations, the latter of whose submission must consist of material broadcast on ICASA Licensed Radio Stations.
13. Submissions will only be judged from entrants functioning legally and conforming to the accepted standards of taste, decency, and responsibility, to which licensed SA broadcasters are committed.
14. A category will not be awarded if insufficient entries are received.
15. All correspondence regarding your entry will be directed to the individual who registered the profile and submitted the entry on the system.
16. Clips from your entry may be used for promotional, educational and research purposes. Furthermore, extracts from these may be used within the Awards presentation production on the night of the 2024 Telkom Radio Awards presentations.
17. You are required to keep a copy of the master tape from which your programme or extracts are taken as the judges may ask for it. Failure to supply this information on request may result in disqualification, as will any evidence of editing (beyond that which is permitted). Spot checks will take place and stations may be called upon, at random, to provide original log tapes.
18. The organising committee may, at its sole discretion, decide to use any entry or entries in the public domain (broadcasting, for example), for the purpose of promoting the Telkom Radio Awards. Entrants agree to the use of their entries – or any part of them – for this purpose and waive any claim they may have to remuneration.
19. Entering the 2024 Telkom Radio Awards is a demonstration of your commitment to – and enthusiasm for – radio.
20. Once you register on the 2024 Telkom Radio Awards entry system, you will no longer be anonymous to us. You will provide us with certain personal data. We will use this personal data to provide awards-related services and information to you as we reasonably think appropriate, and for any other purposes set out in this policy.
20.1.1. This personal data may include: your name and surname; your email address; and your company name and designation.

21. Submitting an entry to the 2024 Telkom Radio Awards is deemed to confirm your acceptance of all the terms and conditions that apply.
